What Happened
Harvard University has announced that it will refrain from taking positions on issues that are not directly related to its role as an educational institution. This means that in the event of a new war or terrorist attack in a foreign country, Harvard will not issue a statement, as it did during the start of the Ukraine war and the Hamas terrorist attacks on October 7th last year.While Harvard will not adopt a completely neutral stance on political matters, it will only respond when the issue at hand directly affects the university's core function and academic values.
